Giark is the fresh new young talent with a distinctive style and sound that is set to take the reggae industry by storm. Craig Dixon coined the original stage name Giark which means ‘To eliminate crosses’No stranger to the industry Giark, (Craig Dixon) was literally born into the music genre – born of the cloth of the legendary Bobby Dixon from the iconic yellow label Digital B.As the son of the prolific Bobby ‘Digital’ Dixon, the artist inherited his father’s passion for good music.From a tender age, Giark always knew that music was his birthright - his future, and he knew he was destined to carve a name for himself in his own right.Giark has been working behind the scenes in the recording studio and could find his way around the mixing table whilst his peers were playing in the schoolyard.He started his career assisting his father in the studio engineering recordings and live sessions with musicians from across the globe. He then moved on to engineering independently while fine tuning his musical talent. He has been instrumental in creating music for artists worldwide including Chronixx, Kabaka Pyramid, Daniel Bambaata Marley, Fay-Ann Lyons and Raging Fyah among others.Adding to his skills on the mixing table, Giark developed his own vocal skills and has now managed to create an impressive catalogue of his own music.Some of his recent recordings include ‘Kingsun’ and ‘So Nice, his lyrical subject range from roots and culture to love and reality.He is currently working on a cache of new musical creations infusing dancehall, contemporary reggae and urban music with his own unique sound. Though still trying to figure who his core audience is, Giark claims to make music for ‘ lovers of good music’.A force to be reckoned with, Giark is a reggae artist of the 21st century- a name to remember, who has already made his mark and is destined for even greater things in the future.
